SCOTLAND IN BUSINESS

An interesting site which gives information on what innovation / r&d and investment grants are available.  They also have a links page with other resources of funding/grants available.  Many of them are for R&D but there is also a link to Job Centre Plus where they offer free work trials and financial incentives to recruit people.

Another interesting site where you can do a search on grants and funding available in the UK  for businesses and has an easy site to move around on.

The Royal Society of Edinburgh is offering an enterprise fellowship to a researcher which includes a year's salary to develop the researchers commercial proposition, product, hosted at university of research or HEI, business training.

Lantra are offering several funding projects one of which is to help family run farms to prepare the younger generation to take over the reins and ensuring a healthy future.  It offers funding for one year.

VisitScotland Growth Fund

It is open to national, regional and local groups and is designed to support tourism groups in Scotland.  50% of funding contribution from grant scheme - from £3,125 to a maximum of £65,000, up to 15% towards project management fees.

The Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT)

Another wee gem of a site the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) will fund young people between 17 and 25 who want to set up their own business with a possible grant of £1,000 if unemployed or otherwise disadvantaged and a loan on favourable terms of up to £5,000 (usually around £3,000 depending on
business plan).
